Prime Minister Sharon, Carry On We applaud you for vigorously fighting the evil of terrorism striking the innocents in Israel, the West, and the United States. With your well justified military incursions into the West Bank, you are attacking the enormous, human reservoir breeding criminal terrorism and murdering civilians with no mercy. It appears that the United States must at times learn how to respond to terrorism the hard way due to an uneven foreign policy. The United States has a poor record of fighting terrorism as shown by the Iranian hostage crisis in Teheran and the assassination of Christian Lebanese President Bashir Gemayel. After the United States showed up on Lebanon's shores with an impressive military armada, it retreated in a humiliating fashion under the hammer of Islamic terrorism. This failure led to terrorist acts and kidnaping in the eighties by HizbAllah and their fellow Islamists, leading up to their Sunni counterpart Osama Bin Laden and his attack on the United States. It is inappropriate to criticize Prime Minister Sharon for cleaning the "Mazar el Sharif " of Israel after five thousand were killed in Washington, DC and New York. HizbAllah, Bin Laden, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Al Aqsa Brigades, and all the Arafat led Palestinian terror groups are one infrastructure with different faces in different make up and different clothes. Their objective is to manipulate the good will of the United States State Department and use the United States as an unwitting shield for additional terror actions against Israel. This is the new non-curable cancer of this 22nd Century that is destroying the civilization of the West. The world must not easily forget the tragic horror of September 11th that resulted in the killing of thousands of people . The world is no longer safe from terrorist sponsoring regimes who are masterminding, financing, and executing terrorism on a worldwide agenda. While Bin Laden acts as the instrument of this deadly terrorist structure, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Saudi Arabia are the sources supplying the support, financially and militarily, to these terror groups. Arafat, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PFLP, PFLP-GC, and others are firmly involved in carrying out the wishes of this axis of terror. They are evil by definition. The West is naive and appears helpless in its battle against the axis of terrorism The widespread negative response against the Israeli military operation in the Middle East is a counterproductive reaction by the Western world who hasn't yet healed from the events of September 11th. The terror is still dwells within the United States and no one can feel secure on any airplane. Fundamentalist Islam has cornered the Free World living into living in constant fear. Kofi Anan and the European Union are advocating a concept of concessions that is attempting to end the crisis by adopting the errors of the Clinton Administration. The West should be taught and learn that concessions to terror is an avenue that resurfaces in additional acts of terror and further destabilizes a volatile region. The withdrawal from Southern Lebanon by Israel proves this example. The good will of Israel in this action, asked for by the United States administration, was translated as weakness in the Arab world and resulted in this deadly and well organized terror conspiracy against the state of Israel. Saudi Crown Prince Abdallah's plan for conflict resolution will never be adopted as long as fundamentalist Iran is inciting the region along with its allies in other Islamic terror regimes. These alliances are responsible for an entire gamut of terror, ranging from daily suicide bombings, killing innocents in discotheques and restaurants and hotels, to the Karin A - a ship of terror. The only meaningful option left for the survival of the West is to show unity and strength in the battle against terrorism. Working as a senior partner, Iran is forging an alliance of terror along with Saddam Hussein and Syria to destabilize the entire Levant and control its oil resources. Not only does this give Islam a powerful weapon against the West, but it affects nations as far away as Japan. The plan consists of the destruction of the Jewish State and the replacement of Israel by an Palestinian state. At that point, the United States can expect to be attacked from Islamic nations today considered friendly. Prime Minister Sharon, carry on your courageous initiative. Israel was forced into this mess by the daily suicide attacks. Afghanistan was first, Israel was next as Israel faced alone these cowardly terrorists who strike with no mercy. Lebanon will be next. The Government of Free Lebanon is ready to assume the charge. No peace will ever reign as long as you have organizations such as HizbAllah on the move against the free world. As time runs out for words, decisive action is needed. Europe should place aside her political selfishness versus the United States and stand courageously in this fight against terror . Most of Europe enjoys a relatively high degree of security and freedom, while Israel pays the price for Europe's safety. The western world must understand it will never be immune from terror if Prime Minister Sharon loses this fight. The West must volunteer and support, not criticize its natural ally. Ariel Sharon is the leader that seized the opportunity to act when the cause of freedom endangered the security of the free world. Long term interests must be the priority and Israel must be supported and not condemned as in the debacle of the western world in 1982 when it severely denounced Israel for bombing the Iraqi nuclear reactor at Osirik. Politicians look for quick solutions to settle their agendas, Prime Minister Sharon is condemned to face reality and save a nation and other minorities in the Middle East who live in a complex and deadly region due to the weakness of previous administrations in Israel and the United States. Strength is the only alternative to survive in any region where fundamentalist Islam uses terror as a means of domination. By meeting with Yasir Arafat, United States Secretary of State Powell implies he is fixing the problem when actually he is compounding it and predictably more will die as the result of his approach. This is the kind of failed politics that led to September 11. Actually, the United States administration confused the dynamics of the Middle East by mixing political reality with financial reality. Oil is their weapon, oil is their game. With it the Muslims blackmail Washington and with it they intend to black mail the entire free world in the future. Prime Minister Sharon you have a historic mission to protect the threatened minorities in the Middle East. As for the Palestinians, they missed a crucial opportunity to effectively achieve peace and decided to replace it by the daily language of war and suicide attacks. Their leaders lost their senses in believing that terrorism will lead them to victory. Despite those who naively believe that peace was a simple goal to achieve, the Government of Free Lebanon affirms its willingness to join in the battle against terror in order to achieve a durable and lasting peace that could serve the best interests of both nations (Lebanon and Israel) and secure a meaningful peace that was missed in 1982. Prime Minister Sharon, your actions are fully understandable and justified and the next step in battle against terrorism should be moved to Lebanon. This country has a message of peace to the world and should be helped to free itself from occupation and oppression. The free world should take lessons of leadership from you. We wish you full success in your ability to win and curb terrorism. WW1 and WW2 were won against Fascism and Nazism by military means as diplomacy failed and after successful military actions, diplomacy reentered and gave Europe its lost freedom. The time has come to neutralize terrorists so moderate diplomacy can play its role for the next 50 years in the Middle East. Thank you, Nagi N. Najjar |
