Media Source Says 200kg of Explosives Used in Syria Car Blast

Damascus, 27 Sep (SANA) - An official media source has said that a booby-trapped car exploded at 0845 [0545 gmt] today on Al-Muhaliq al-Janubi Street in Damascus, in an area crowded with civilians, near Sayidah Zaynab crossroad. The explosion resulted in the killing of 17 civilians and the wounding of 14 others.

The source added that the explosives in the car are estimated to have weighed 200 kg. The Central Counterterrorism Unit has started the investigations to uncover the identity of the perpetrators.
