Renewed Fierce Clashes in Lebanon

MOUNT LEBANON, May 11 (KUNA) -- Renewed fierce clashes are now raging between government and opposition forces in Mount Lebanon, security sources said here Sunday.

The clashes are taking place at the areas of Kifon and Qamatiya, where opposition supporters are stationed, and Eitat Baisour and Ein Anoub, where government supporters are present, the sources told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Most Lebanese areas saw an uneasy calm early Sunday, but battles are anomalously raging at Mount Lebanon, which could undermine ongoing reconciliatory efforts.

Two people were reportedly killed and a Hezbollah fighter went missing in clashes between Socialist Progressive Party and opposition supports on Saturday.
